VOLKSBANK Slovensko - FES
VOLKSBANK Slovensko, a.s., a member of the Volksbank International AG (VBI) group is a medium sized universal bank. It has been operating on the Slovak market since 1991, offering to its clients a broad range of bank products and services, plus mutual funds, life insurance, pension savings and housing saving schemes.
VolksBank International Group wanted to increase the quality of its services, speed up the customer service process, automate internal processes and increase cross-selling of products by individual banks belonging to the VBI group.
Based on an analysis of its needs, VBI decided to implement a new front-end system, with the deployment of the system divided into several steps. The first phase concentrated on improvement of client service and on obtaining a comprehensive view of the client and its products. The second phase concentrates on credit approval process automation for corporate clients and small and medium-sized enterprises.
VOLKSBANK Slovensko decided to carry out this project in cooperation with Softec, particularly due to Softec’s experience with the development of similar applications for other customers.
From the very beginning, Softec was involved in the definition of requirements on client service improvement. Softec also carried out a detailed analysis, system specification, design, development, testing and deployment in production.
The system was created in a J2EE environment on the basis of a commercial banking framework.
The new front-end system provides the bank with a comprehensive view of the client and all banking products being used, speeds up client service and increases the potential for cross-selling. The application integrates data from the core banking system with data from other systems, including payment card data from the card system.
At the same time, the front-end part of the core banking system (which was rather complicated to use) was replaced. This helped to reduce the time required to train new personnel. The system also provides central administration of clients.
At present, Softec maintains the application and takes care of functionality extensions according to customer requirements.
Following the success of the project at VOLKSBANK Slovakia, VBI decided to implement the new front-end system also in VOLKSBANK CZ and turned to Softec again.
